Nobody enjoys reading policies. Read this one anyway, because two or three of these are the difference between a good night and a trip ending early.

Alcohol and age

The rule that matters most: every passenger consuming alcohol must be 21 or older, and drivers can ask for ID. This isn't an operator preference — it's the law, and the consequences of ignoring it land on the operator's licence as well as on you.

Where it gets practical:

• If anyone aboard is under 21, tell us when booking. It changes how the trip is run.
• Many operators, including us, run a strictly no-alcohol policy on any trip carrying minors — proms, homecomings, quinceañeras, Sweet 16s. That applies to the adults aboard too.
• Trips for minors typically require a chaperone. Ask when booking.
• A driver who finds alcohol on a minors trip can end the trip. Nobody wants that on a prom night, which is why we ask up front.

Capacity

Passenger counts can't exceed the vehicle's rated capacity. Not by one. It's a safety limit and a legal one, and an operator willing to bend it is telling you something about their maintenance and insurance habits too.

What you can bring

Yes: your own drinks (21+), snacks and food, decorations that don't need adhesive, speakers or a phone for the Bluetooth, cake, gifts, and luggage within reason — coolers and lake gear included on lake shuttles.

No: anything that stains or damages — confetti cannons, glitter bombs, silly string, anything with adhesive on the interior. Glassware is discouraged on a moving vehicle for obvious reasons; bring cans or plastic.

Absolutely not: illegal substances, weapons, smoking or vaping of any kind, and open flames including candles on cakes.

Smoking and vaping

Not permitted anywhere on board, including vapes. Interiors hold odour and the next group inherits it. Ask the driver for a stop instead — that's normal and nobody minds.

Deposits, cancellations and changes

Structures vary between operators; ask for yours in writing. Industry-standard shape:

• A deposit at booking secures the date and vehicle.
• Balance due before or on the day.
• Cancellations before a cutoff date typically recover the deposit, in full or in part; after that they usually don't, because the date has been held and turned away from other bookings.
• Date changes are usually easier than cancellations. Ask early.

Cleaning and damage

Normal mess — cups, a spill, general aftermath — is expected and included. Nobody is charging you for a good night.

Charges apply for what takes a vehicle out of service: excessive cleaning, sickness requiring deep cleaning, burns, tears, broken fixtures, glitter or confetti. A bus that can't run the next evening costs an operator a booking, which is what those fees reflect.

On the night

• Stay seated on freeway sections. Drivers will ask. It isn't negotiable.
• One point of contact. Nominate someone. Groups with a single decision-maker run better and finish on time.
• Running long? Ask the driver early rather than at the end. Overage is usually possible if the vehicle isn't booked after you — but only if there's time to check.
• The driver decides on safety. Routing, stops and whether the trip continues are the driver's call. It's their licence.

The short version

Drink if you're 21+, don't smoke, don't bring glitter, don't exceed capacity, tell us in advance if minors are aboard, and nominate one person to talk to the driver. That's genuinely most of it. The same rules apply across every service we run, with the minors exception noted above.
